Assignment 01 :
Sustainable System in a City

In this module, a variety of historical and modern resources have been brought to us, each of which illustrates a fundamental theme in the conceptual framework, model, and planning of sustainable urban life. Thus, as students, we had the chance to investigate questions of space and shape and how they relate to factors of use and cultural significance. For our first project, we had to work as a team to show that we understood the economic, social, and environmental aspects, as well as the four infrastructure, of the two existing cities that we had selected as examples. We also had to explain how cultural values, which make up the identity of the city we chose, affect perceptions and experiences in the local urban context.

Reflection

In order to generate a satisfied result and to ensure a seamless process from start to finish of our job, I've learned how to work as a team in this project. I am extremely lucky to work in a group where everyone is responsible and communicative, which has helped me to appreciate the value of communication on both a social and visual level.
It's crucial for group members to communicate with one another in order to prevent confusion and misunderstanding. I'm happy that all of my group members are open to sharing their thoughts and opinions because this encourages a fertile environment for debate and the production of new ideas.
On the other hand, it's as crucial to communicate and explain our data and analyses clearly. Through this project, I have been able to sharpen my graphic communication abilities thanks to the direction of my infographic-savvy peers.
Overall, I'm grateful that I enjoyed myself and that this module taught me a lot about the structures and infrastructures of a sustainable city.

Assignment 02 :
Sustainable City Ideas

In terms of our second assignment, Sustainable City Ideas, we were asked to imagine and develop personal suggestions for concepts, principles, and practises of a selected sustainable city in the upcoming 20–30 years. Prior to choosing the city and analysing its sustainability challenges, I conducted extensive study in which I discovered that every city has unique frameworks and issues.
Therefore, we should not approach the redesigned city model carelessly but rather with both the tangible and intangible in mind. Through this project, I have gained a deeper understanding of sustainability because we are not only considering the problems that are occurring right now, but also making predictions about the future while simultaneously developing solutions. The technical aspects of our suggested model were not overlooked in assuring the viability of our framework, even though the aesthetic component of the project is crucial. This necessitates more thorough investigation and comprehension of the problems and potential solutions, which helps to rethink a city in a way that will eventually be advantageous to both the populace and the environment.

REFLECTION

Through this assignment, I was given the opportunity to use my creative imagination to explore the seemingly endless array of possibilities for a future city that doesn't exalt innovation and technology at the expense of the environment, but instead makes skillful use of the resources and knowledge we already have so that we can move forward without forgetting our foundations. Through the project, I was able to hone my critical thinking abilities in order to create a greener and more sustainable living space and apply it to my creative thinking process so that I could generate designs carefully taking the future and its occupants into account rather than just haphazardly. It has also made me aware of the terrible consequences of our choices, no matter how insignificant they may seem.
Overall, the module was enjoyable and exploratory, allowing me to develop greater design sensitivity and knowledge of the environment, its inhabitants, and its places. I'm grateful to my tutor for his or her patient instruction and support throughout the semester, which led to the successful completion and successful outcome of the module.
